The best info on living with, or with someone else, with A.D.H.D.

So….. What brought you here?  Curiosity about A.D.H.D.?  Let me tell you, living with this has been both a blessing and a curse.  I have driven myself and others crazy, but you will never meet anyone with a better personality or fun energy than an A.D.H.D. person.

The kind of person who is exciting and unpredictable…. The ones who usually have the foot in mouth disease… (ex.  “Excuse me, are you a man or a woman?”)  Also the kind that would give you the shirt off their back if they remembered to wear one.

I joke around, and I have learned to be self deprecating about it.  It is what it is.  But what it Isn’t  is not always so bad.  The creativity and genius and the life of the party personality that come with having A.D.H.D. is truly contagious.   As aggravating as we can be sometimes, we can turn your frown upside down like no other.  There are so many good and fun things that come with the territory of being an adult with A.D.H.D.

However, there is also the bad part… like……Have you ever found yourself walking to your car from a recent shopping spree and fought like hell to get in your car only to realize it is another car that happens to be red and looks just like yours but it’s just not yours?  People are staring at you as you curse and flail your arms everywhere and you get so upset with your emotions you almost want to hit the car but restrain yourself.  Then, as soon as you realize your goof, that you didn’t even park in this entrance anyway, you can’t help but laugh.  That is something minor that we A.D.H.D. people deal with on a daily basis.  To us, this is normal.  However, from an outsiders perception, we are one card shy of a full deck…

No one in my family truly understands me.  That’s OK.  I am finally at piece with it. Maybe I can help you to be at piece with it too.  I also have anxiety and OCD, so I am REALLY genetically blessed.  But I joke….

Tomorrow I want to share more stories and thoughts and perhaps advice to Anyone struggling or having a hard time about it.  It’s really not so bad!!
